I would like to raise miniature deer. I’m not sure what kind, but the Pudu deer is the smallest deer I think. We are still doing research as to what kind of deer we will be raising on the land. We only have 15 acres, but our neighbor whom we are working with, has 20 acres behind ours; so we will have some of our livestock with his and we will be working with his family on other projects as well…
I think the Pudu deer is too small; but if anyone has any leads as to what other forms of miniature or small deer we might be interested in raiding, please let us know. Thanx! (:
It looks like the Pudu are both endangered.
The Muntiacini and the Muntjac deer are I think the same deer, still doing homework on what deer to have on the farm if any… The Muntjac deer have tusks, which is cool. It looks like we can buy Muntjacs, but do we want them? The Pudu is smaller then the Muntjac, the Pudu get to be just over a foot tall. It appears that a Muntjac deer will get to be 1.5 – 2 feet tall; which I think we would like to find one that is a foot or so bigger, about the size of a goat is what we are looking for.
White Monarch deer are cool too, but I think they are too big :/
