Hügelkultur

In a nut shell; a Hügelkultur is a pole of wood, covered in clay, dirt and compost. You then plant your food on this mound of wood, dirt, clay and compost. The wood acts as a sponge and locks moisture into your garden to feed your crop like a time release capsule.

You can get more technical, but this is the shirt version. There is many ways you can make Hügelkultur to suite your specific needs.
