From: my mom

I typed this up. I couldn’t sleep it is really pissing me off that he broke our trust. Not sure if I’ll send it. But what do you think about what i said and should I send it?

David Ray: I have been nothing but nice to you. I let you stay at my place in KC, so you could work and make money. I tho’t I could trust you. You even called me Mom. Is this the way you treated your own mom? No wonder they told you to leave.

Last week you asked me if you could buy TriG. I said no she is not for sale. So as soon as I leave you steal her.

When she broke her leg, you said “Put her down. She’s useless, she won’t be able to have babies.” Garrett said “No.” Garrett and I took her to the vet. He said she’d be would adapt fine since she was only a month old. So David-Cain, Garrett and I decided to save her. You were going to kill her “for meat”, is what you said last weekend. Well she was only a month old so killing her “for meat” … too young. She can’t have babies…oops, guess you were wrong about that too. But when you found out… oh she could have babies! Well… now you say she’s yours again. She isn’t yours she belongs Cain’O, Garrett & I. You wanted to kill her.

I you’d steal from me and Garrett what are you stealing from Cain’O. I trusted you I honestly tho’t you could be trusted not to steal stuff. You had the key to about almost everything I have done there. What else have you taken? What have you taken from Cain’O?Now you broke that trust. You were trusted to protect & take care things while Cain’O was out on the road but you didn’t take care of the animals, you abused animals, you supposedly “know about goats” but you ignored all the sign and let them die even your own (that’s the same as abuse). You were a trusted friend for yrs. That is what hurts the most.

Why I Believe the Narcissist’s Enablers Are Also Guilty

: 9 Tips to Help You Sleep

In my personal experience with narcissistic abuse, I’ve found that education is my best weapon.

What is Narcissism?

Malignant narcissism is a personality disorder, characterized by a flagrant disregard for the rights of others. Narcissistic individuals abuse those around them. In a group setting, such as an office, they typically select one person at a time for an extreme and intense form of emotional warfare. Social scientists call this “narcissistic abuse.”

They are consummate and skillful liars. By spreading false stories about their target, they are able to win people to their camp. One characteristic of this personality disorder is apparent lack of conscience or remorse. Narcissists also have a difficult time with accountability — if they are confronted about their behavior, they will generally fly into a rage.https://81a229b51789529cc1785f2be9b2dad2.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

Psychologists believe that narcissism is a permanent, incurable condition.

The Role of the Enablers

There’d be no such thing as narcissistic abuse if it weren’t for the enablers. These are the folks who sit on the sidelines and watch someone else being whipped. They could step in and demand that it stop. They have the power to do so. All it takes is one or two courageous souls to say, “No, this is not okay.”

For various reasons, however, enablers elect to remain “neutral.”

The narcissist depends upon these weak-willed comrades. Abusing someone isn’t any fun if it’s only a party of two. With a crowd, there’s unlimited potential for drama. The narcissist can pull a lot more strings that way.https://81a229b51789529cc1785f2be9b2dad2.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

If it were just the abuser and her target, it wouldn’t be worth it to carry out a full-fledged hate campaign. So, the narcissist works to get others to turn on the target. The collective betrayal, which comes from the camp of these enablers, is even more devastating than the primary source of abuse.

Targets—especially if this happens at work or in a social setting—watch as the people they thought were their friends slink away as the battle intensifies.

Not taking a stand to stop someone from being hurt doesn’t absolve you of guilt. On the contrary, you become an active participant, whether you consider yourself one or not.

Some enablers even take it a step beyond, by switching from idling in neutral to all-out support of the morally disordered person. They may even turn into “flying monkeys” who carry out small attacks in order to stay on the bully’s good side.

Enablers are Not Innocent

Why People Become Enablers

  • Most enablers likely act out of weakness rather than malice. However, this doesn’t excuse them. That’s because enablers have a lot of power. The abuser relies upon them not to back up the target. Before any attacks begin, a morally disordered person will carefully plan the battle. This can take months to even years before direct hits are launched.
  • Warfare begins only if it’s clear that there’s an excellent chance of decimating a target. If there’s a solid support system, the abuser won’t make a move. This means the enablers are the variable, which can either make or break a plan. The narcissist knows this, which is why so much effort is put into creating chaos and confusion. This makes it easier for the enablers to rationalize their position. They may even begin to believe the target is getting the treatment she deserves, and that she did something to warrant the narcissist’s extreme reaction.

Motivated by Self Interest

Enablers are guided by self interest. So, they choose not to help the victim.

  • In a social setting, such as in a neighborhood full of young mothers, a woman might worry about her own social standing. She doesn’t want to be the next victim. She also wants to ensure her children aren’t ostracized.
  • Narcissists are serial abusers. Once they eliminate one person, they find someone else to kick around. This is the unspoken threat that keeps enablers in line. The fear of ending up as a target is palpable and overriding.

In the Workplace

A lot of emotional abuse among adults takes place at work. It seems as if every office now has a resident bully. Bully behavior is what narcissists excel at. Undoubtedly, a lot of these folks suffer from malignant narcissism, or a related personality disorder. Here is how it carries out:

  • The target receives no help. When an attack is carried out at work, it’s a very rare individual who’ll risk their job to defend a target. However, this is understandable considering that livelihoods are at stake. Although we are still called to do the right thing, putting up resistance could get you into trouble, while not doing anything can also be hazardous to your job.
  • The target ends up leaving. Workplace bullies attack with the aim of driving their target into the unemployment line. Usually they succeed. About 75 percent of the time, someone who’s bullied at work moves on. This happens either because they are fired, due to trumped up charges, or they voluntarily resign.
  • Then, the attacker moves on to the next. Workplace bullies operate on a similar principle as serial killers — they are angry, bloodthirsty creatures who need fresh prey. Once the target leaves, they start hunting for another. This person is often chosen from their pool of enablers. In an especially ironic twist, a “flying monkey” may even find herself on the receiving end of a narcissist’s wrath.

Why People Fall for the Lies

Some enablers don’t help because they have swallowed the stories concocted by the narcissist. But this doesn’t entirely let them off the hook, because we’re not supposed to listen to gossip in the first place. If someone is painted in an unflattering light, we should stop the conversation and insert a kind word on that person’s behalf. It appears as if an enabler neglects this important step. Instead, they listen to the falsehoods being spread.

The fact that some people believe these tales says little about your character, but volumes about theirs. First, because they listen to gossip, they encourage this vice. They provide a comfortable ear for the tale-bearer. They also suspend their ability to think critically, and to form their own opinions about someone. This is why enablers are not so innocent. They’ve made a choice to support the abuse, even if they don’t see it that way.

In my personal experience with narcissistic abuse, I’ve found that education is my best weapon. This is why I often recommend that targets read all they can about this disorder. The book Narcissists Exposed is an excellent introduction to the warped mind of a malicious personality. It clues you in to the game played by disordered people. Once you understand how they operate, you’re not nearly as vulnerable to their attacks. After a while, with proper distance, it may even become amusing.

If someone is mistreated or excluded, a true friend will work to rectify the situation.Let a bully know that his/her bad behavior hasn’t gone unnoticed should help reign in the abuse. Bullies rely upon lack of social sanctions.Refuting the lies you hear frees you from the compromising position of being an enabler.

How to Support the Target

Targets often make the mistake the thinking that the enablers are their friends. However, true friends won’t tolerate their buddy being mistreated. They will find a way to defend them, even if it means they take a personal risk. It’s understandable that a workplace colleague wants to protect his or her position.

There are still ways to support a friend who’s under fire:

  • You can walk away, or issue a strong defensive statement, when the trash talk begins. This sends a loud message that you’re not going along with the program.
  • Or, if everyone is going out for drinks after work, and the target doesn’t receive an invitation, a true friend will also decline. Anything else means lending your acceptance.

An Explanation of Workplace Bullying

A Painful Reality

If you’re a target, it’s a painful realization that the abuse kicked into high gear only with the help of enablers, some of whom may even have stooped so low as to deliver a few blows themselves.

Remember, their behavior is not a reflection of your worth as a person. Instead, they chose the path of least resistance, which underscores the fact they don’t have much integrity. Now, they need to watch their own backs because they could be next.

Sadly, I work for a narcascitict entrepreneur who is out if the office much of the time attending to another business venture. She has hired a grossly narcascitic , vulgar bully as her internal conduit of information. I have expressed my concern over this bully’s vulgar behavior which is totally inappropriate anywhere let alone in a business environment to my immediate supervisor who is the COO of the business. It has become obvious that this has been reported to the bully becasue now I am on the receiving end of her bad behavior. I haven’t called her directly on any of it but that day is coming. I can’t afford to lose the position but at some point my patience will run out.

Edith Hellyer Felker on November 18, 2016:

You hit the nail on the head…I am suffering repeated abuse spanning 40 years. Somebody help me. I suffered chronic and acute carbon monoxide poisoning and suffered brain damage, was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, had crystals in my blood, had half of my nipple necrose, had a double mastectomy performed on me without my permission, had my blood pressure swing wildly during surgery, had my body double in size after surgery at Scripps La Jolla (and these doctors are EXCELLENT!), was deprived of pain medication after vision surgery and cried all night long rubbing salt into the wound, had my reputation demolished, had our finances ruined, had family members turned against me, had pets and chickens poisoned or killed, was starved nearly to death (they claimed it was everything from AIDS to bulimia, but they did it to me) and this is just a little bit of what they did to me.

Chrissy on November 17, 2016:

Great article. Makes sense of a recent unpleasant business experience. I’ll be watching to see which enabler becomes the next victim – I’ve a firm idea who it’ll be. Now I’m aware of this type of behaviour I’m pretty sure I can spot similar types/situations. Sad that we have to stand back & be guarded rather than trust first impressions; but life’s too short to waste on these self absorbed characters – or their weak “friends/colleagues”. The saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” certainly rings true in my case. Education & awareness has to be the way forward – I’ll be spreading the word!

I was bullied at school by a narcissist, she had her flying monkeys and enablers after primary school she transferred the abuse to secondary school where she ensured that the abuse would continue by destroying my reputation with so many enablers. my home life was dysfunctional so I had no support system to fall back on and not fitting in school made the abuse and suffering worse, If karma exists this narcissist has suffered a horrific death for what she did to me. For some reason throughout my life I have always come across narcissists . My present narcissist is my mil she has been emotionally abusive towards me, my husband the golden child enabler and also has narcissistic tendencies. The last two jobs I had I left because the bosses were workplace bullies and narcissists treating all their employees like shit. As a result from all my dealings with these demons I now suffer from PTSD and I have told I also have mild cerebral atrophy. As far as my marriage is concerned It’s been so hard with a narcissistic mil and a golden child mamas boy very bad. I have been stuck for nearly 30 years I just don’t have any money to get out. I feel I will probably get a illness soon and die. Sometimes I wish I did die but I love my now adult children so much to even contemplate suicide. I can’t get a job I’m too old for school and I am wallowing in severe depression because I am I so much pain.

Janet on August 16, 2016:

Just wanted to say keep posting and thanks for the website. I was involved with a narcissist in my 20s, am now 69. There wasn’t much information about them in those days and its taken most of my life to understand what happened to me and my two sons. I did get him out of my life after about four years because I realised he only cared for himself and not us. Then the stuff happened where he lied about me and isolated me from my friends who I had though would be my support when I got him out of my life, one of whom was the father of my eldest child. We have never been able to repair that relationship. Thankfully I had a very supportive mother who helped us through. Despite trying a few times I have never been able to make a relationship work and my sons don’t really understand what happened. However, while he caused a lot of destruction he did not destroy us and we have gone on to life unconventional interesting lives. It is good to know that the information is now out there now.

Claudia on August 07, 2016:

It seems to me by my experience that sometimes the Narcissist’s Family Members can easily become Enablers of their behavior. I think that this is because since they are Family, they cannot just leave and get away from the Narcissist and so they feel that they have to just go along with everything, in order to keep themselves safe.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on April 30, 2016:

Hi Misfit Chick, I totally agree that narcissists are probably very miserable inside and that they need to heal from a disorder where they try to solve their own problems, and feelings of emptiness, by hurting others. Thanks for reading.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on March 28, 2016:

Hi lone female and Beth, thank you so much for reading. Lone female, I hope you can find new employment. I am so sorry this is happening. Unfortunately, most people do not have the integrity to stand up to a workplace bully. They are either enamored with him, do not know what is going on or choose to ignore what is happening, hoping it’s an isolated case. There’s also the underlying fear that they’ll be next. They might be.

BethSeyah on March 28, 2016:

As an adult child if a narcissistic mother, I have struggled with coming to terms with my father’s role in my abuse. As the scapegoat child, I was physically, mentally and emotionally abused by my parents. My father did abuse me, and I believe he did this with mother because of the chaos my mother created in the home. My siblings were encouraged to make fun of me on a regular basis. Although not healthy, I am certain their participated spared them from the physical abuse I endured.

I do believe my father is an enabler and not a narcissist. I have gone no contact with my mother because of her ongoing verbal abuse throughout my adulthood. She will have no part of me having a relationship with my father. At times, when I miss my dad, my husband reminds me that he is also guilty of abuse. Regardless, it still hurts not to see him.

Thank you for your article. It helps me to understand my dad’s role in my abuse.

lone female on March 27, 2016:

I have been the victim of workplace mobbing. I am employed by a large factory with approx. 2500 employees. Out of that I am one of only 30 female workers. I work with between 40 to 70 coworkers in which 95% of the time I am the only female on shift. One of the managers never took me seriously, causing him to get pulled in for disaplineary meetings and by not listening to me caused the company millions. After the fact he started spreading malicious rumors about me behind my back. Causing who I thought were my friends at work to join in and believe the lies that were being spread. Even though I’ve known these ppl for years they still believed and joined in with the bullying. I feel as if I am being forced out of a very well paying job on account of me doing my job and others not doing their own. The stress has gotten so bad I am now suffering from ptsd and numerous physical symptoms (numbness, excruciating back/muscle/joint pain, muscle spasms, stress rash, numerous new allergies, IBS and can’t forget the migraines that can last 20 days… etc. I have been battling with widespread pain for 2 years and always pushed through it seeing as most doctors I saw couldn’t figure out what the problem with me. I’ve gone through every test that is at my disposal, yet none of them rendered any results. It’s amazing to finally know what is wrong and to know it’s not something even more serious. I never once would have thought all this pain and suffering I’ve been dealing with is due to stress, and unfortunately nothing I could have done differently would have changed the I’ve been treated. I was always taught sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. This is one quote I will not be passing down to my son, because words can actually be worse and leave you dead!! I’m just wondering if any others here have experienced pain caused by stress and have you found a way to manage it? I feel like I’ve tried everything I can. 🙁

Wonderful article!

Hi Sally, these are my own thoughts exactly. So few people have the integrity to stand up to a bully. In a group setting, it would take just one or two strong friends and it would all stop. I know what you mean when you say this can only happen when no one helps. Thank you so much for reading.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on January 15, 2016:

Hi GregH, thank you for reading. Your store is a good example of why more light needs to be shed upon females who have no regard for others. We need to bust the myth that all females are nurturing, so men and women can recognize the signs of this disorder and run in the other direction, before a romantic or a platonic relationship becomes too involved. I wish you the best of luck.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on January 14, 2016:

Hi Theresa, I am so sorry to hear about this, and how you most likley had a terrible time growing up. Narcissists are extremely divisive. If they weren’t, people could get together and compare notes. I’m convinced that the best thing we can do is to educate ourselves about this disorder, so we can spot it in future relationships. Then we need to decide how much distance we need. We won’t heal ourselves unless we forgive. God Bless you.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on January 14, 2016:

Leslie, thank you so much for reading. I hope to help others. Jacklee, maybe I can do that. My first goal is to get this featured again.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on January 03, 2016:

Kelly, I don’t know what to say except maybe evaluate the relationship with your boyfriend, and decide if this is what you want, because this woman is going to be a part of your life, for what sounds like a long time. She’s not going to go away and she’s not going to change. She’s part of the package. If things are this difficult now, they will only get more difficult later. This might not be what you want to hear, but I have to be honest. Best wishes.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on October 08, 2015:

Hi Karli, thank you so much for reading. It is miserable dealing with a malignant, malicious narcissist. But it also helps you to better appreciate all the good people out there.

I will pray for your daughter. I’m so sorry to hear about this. We are living in a terribly troubled world right now.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on August 20, 2015:

Hi FreeSpirit, I couldn’t agree more, which is why I believe the targets who pray need to pray for these pathetic adult bullies and their weak-willed enablers.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on July 25, 2015:

Hi Becki, a clear conscience is priceless. In the long run, the narcs only hurt themselves. The enablers have very weak character and, oftentimes, issues of their own. Sorry this has happened to you.

Hi Jenn, thanks for reading.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on April 20, 2015:

Hi Mr. John, this disorder does seem to becoming more prevalent. What a great idea for training in the workplace, because a toxic work environment is very costly to the company.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on March 26, 2015:

Hi Shelly, thanks so much for reading. Believe it or not, many blessings have come from the experience.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on March 18, 2015:

I’ve also read that book and I agree that it is a real eye opened. Thanks again for reading this.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on March 15, 2015:

Hi Digital, I am so sorry to hear about this. It appears as if malignant and troubled personalities gravitate toward volunteer groups and churches. (I’m not saying this to discourage anyone from going to church, as I go myself, but to avoid becoming too involved, and to make sure you don’t “trample” on the territory they’ve marked out for themselves.)

Of course no one is going to believe you, because the bully has them in his or her pocket. Once something like this happens, the best bet may be to move on and find a place where your talents are appreciated. Good luck.

Hi Sam, you’ve raised an excellent point. When I write about my own experience with malignant narcissist, whom I met at church, I realize that some her her enablers also had personality disorders. These folks definitely do work in packs, and it does get quite toxic. I’m sorry you had the experience. It’s an absolute nightmare while you’re in the midst of it. Thanks for reading.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on June 26, 2014:

Hi Alicia and MsDora, thanks so much for reading. It’s quite alright about the personal experience because it was a lesson I had to learn, and, now, hopefully I can help others.

Hi grand old lady, thanks so much for reading. I also believe they are oftentimes fooled, but weak nonetheless.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on June 23, 2014:

Hi FlourishAnyway, a true friend like the one who didn’t attend is a treasure. These people are rare, and priceless. It sounds as if that one person at your company had more integrity than the others. What a sad story, and how pathetic that the managers went along with it, and that no one could see through the childishness of the “certain people” clause. But you can bank on the fact that this whole clique eventually dissolved.

ologsinquito (author) from USA on June 23, 2014:

Stop Spending Money At The Pharmacy By Growing These 10 Plants

How Would You Like to Have a Complete
Medicinal Garden in Your Backyard ?https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/d1m7lqbnqg?videoFoam=true

The 10 Medicinal Plants You Want to Have in Your Backyard:

Chicory – The Forgotten “Relieving Plant” that Should Grow in Every U.S Backyard

Chicory was largely used by our forefathers whenever they were in pain. This “relieving plant” deals with a wide range of physical discomforts, especially aches and inflammation of the back, knee, neck, hip, shoulder and joints in general. Chicoric Acid (CA) seems to be the plant substance responsible for that. You’ll find out more about the remedies you can make from Chicory in the brochure you’ll receive along with the kit.

Yarrow – Nature’s Tourniquet

The second plant you’ll receive is called Yarrow and this one saved my knuckle. On day 42 of the Alone Show I accidentally cut my hand while gutting a fish. The wound was deep and most likely would have gotten infected. Luckily, I found some Yarrow growing nearby and packed some inside the cut. The bleeding stopped in minutes and my wound healed so well that now there’s barely a scar left.

California Poppy – The Herbal Sandman

You won’t know the value of a good night’s sleep until you can’t get anymore. Unfortunately, as we age, that naturally tends to happen to most people. But this plant can help support a healthy and restorative deep sleep like we enjoyed as children, when falling and staying asleep were both effortless. I usually take my California Poppy as a simple tea, right before bed, and then doze off soon after. But you can also enjoy its sleep benefits as a more concentrated tincture.

Peppermint – The Pioneer’s Stomach Band-Aid

The 4th plant will fill your backyard with a pleasantly refreshing smell. When you pick and prepare your newly grown Peppermint leaves, your stomach will be grateful. Most of our lives we eat whatever we want, and we rarely give him a break. But FRESH Peppermint tea or oil are doing just that. In the brochure you receive with the kit, you’ll find more of its uses for: skin, nerves, intestines, bile or the liver just to name a few.

Chamomile – Our Grandparents’ Eye-Catching Plant

The 5th plant you’ll have is called Chamomile. And this is how it could look in your garden. My grandmother used to dip a clean cloth in warm chamomile tea and place it over swollen joints or irritated eyes. Chamomile has a lot of healthy properties and uses. So, if you have it on hand, together with the brochure, you can use it for: muscles, skin, eyes and many others.

Evening Primrose – The Old Answer to Morning Stiffness

Our grandparents would take this plant first thing each morning and then get to enjoy a healthy mobility until the sun went down. I have a big patch of it in my garden and I think it should definitely become a staple in yours as well. Turn to the brochure to find out how you can also use the plant for: bones, nerves, digestion, liver, eyes, blood vessels, energy, etc.

Meadowsweet – The Perennial Anti-Inflammatory Herb

The 7th plant you’ll find waiting for you in the garden is Meadowsweet. This was one of three plants revered most by the druid healers. Later, during the 19th century, Felix Hoffman used Meadowsweet and not the Willow Tree when he first extracted his famous salicylic acid. You might know it as Aspirin. But it has several other powerful uses for lungs and nerves that will find out in the brochure.

Echinacea – The Plant for a Strong Immune System

What I realized in my 20 years of practicing herbalism is that the medicinal substances found in plants you buy at the herbal stores pale in comparison to the ones you find in nature or grow yourself. It’s never been more evident than for Echinacea, which is a plant known to support a healthy immune system. But Echinacea is also used for the urinary tract in both women and men. All the recipes can be found in the brochure.

Calendula – The Herb You Need to Keep Close during Dark Times

The 9th plant in your kit is Calendula. In the old days’ folks used to dress wounds and cover cuts with a salve made from it. But where this plant really shines is with the immune and lymphatic system. A good plant to have around the house, especially in times like these. With the brochure included you’ll learn how to make it into an oil, a salve, a decoction and an extract.

Feverfew – The Plant that Fights Migraines

Just like the name suggests, it is a great fever reducer and a natural anti-inflammatory similar to Ibuprofen. Feverfew lowers the number, as well as the severity and duration of migraine attacks. It also decreases nausea and light-sensitivity. You can eat the leaves raw, but inside the brochure, you’ll also discover how to make your own “Anti-Migraine Tincture” from the Feverfew growing in your backyard.

And I would have been willing to pay A LOT for it.

Planting a medicinal herb garden will bring new and exciting aspects to your green world and many benefits. But even so, if you don’t want to plant them now, for any reason, you can keep the seeds for when you feel the time is right.

I know a few people who grabbed three Medicinal Garden Kits each, just to store them in case of a crisis that affects our medical system and the pharmaceutical chains. These Medicinal Garden Kits will keep for a long-time and are perfect for people who want to be more self-reliant and for those who are preparing for the worst of times.

With your Medicinal Garden Kit, you’ll always have one reliable, safe, and completely free natural alternative within easy reach.

All 10 of these healing plants are good companions for vegetables and fruit trees, but you can also plant them in the front yard if you wish.

Most of the medicinal herbs found in the kit are perennials that die in the winter and re-emerge in the spring or self-seeding annuals that become well established after the first year.

365 Days Money-Back Guarantee

And because I have such faith in the Medicinal Garden Kit, it comes with a full 365 days money-back guarantee.

But my guess is you’ll never want a refund, because these seeds and the 10 plants they create will end up saving you A LOT more money in the long run than what you’re paying for them today.

Judass Eviction Notice

Ok… Due to recent events.

You have 15 days left to move yourself and your things off the property.

You can thank Sophie for wanting to give you a reprieve. But at this point, Im ready to just burn everything to the ground.
You just need to pack your bags, I’m done with you.

You have 15 days; you need to relocate yourself, and the rest of your belongings somewhere else.

I’ve been the only one buying goat for the past seven years, and you are going around telling EVERYONE that the feed I buy is shit. You think you can do better, yet you never do. I like my way of doing things better then your way of not doing things. If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have any goats left at all, yet you trash talk me to everyone you can.

I also know you have also been slandering me about not buying cat food lately; you haven’t bought but maybe a couple/few bags of feed for any of the animals over the last Se7en years, so its about time you earn your keep and feed some animals for a change. That being said; you tell other people that im the one buying shitty food for the animals, when in fact, i think the food you are buying is the cheap crap. I seriously doubt that you are buying the equivalent to or better then that that i buy.

Furthermore… You don’t do hardly anything I ask you to do around here, you think you only have to do one hours worth of work daily and you barely do that, you hardly do anything on the land at all. You don’t do what I need you to do, you only do what you want to do, and you haven’t been fallowing through with your end of our agreement. Austin has been living next door since 2019; and he says he never hardly ever see you doing any work on the land at all, that you hardly ever leave the greenhouse, except when I’m home… And barely at that. Yet you trash talk me to the community.

Thank you for finally getting your stuff out of my overseas storage container, so I can get it up and out of the mud. It’s been sitting in the mud for seven years now, I’ve only been asking you to do something about it for over five years now. I see the floors totally ruined, thank you. I’d expect you to pay for the damages, but I know you won’t. You haven’t helped me pay hardly any of the bills around here, or compensate me for my animals that you killed by neglect; so why would you pay me for other damages that you’ve caused me.

You continue to disrespect and disregard me or my property. You need to clean up your pigsty’s, I’m tired of looking at your trash… you can no longer live in here, you like to live in filth; and I don’t need or want for that to be in the public eye or even on my property. People are tired of seeing your pigsty, even your wife complains about it.

I’m subdividing and selling the front half of the land to Sophie and Josh, so they want it cleaned up. Josh is buying the northwest side, Sophie is buying the southwest side. Maybe Sophie will let you stay on her part, but I know Josh won’t; and I don’t really want you either at this point. I don’t take kindly to lying, thieving, backstabbing, narcissistic parasites.

Your free ride is over; I’m already supporting enough welfare recipients with my tax dollars, I don’t need another one. I’ve had your back for the past 9+ years; and you repay me by talking trash on me to the community since 2019, bad mouthing me to my business associates, you’ve been sabotaging me and stabbing me in the back. Yet you kiss ass and you are nice to my face. If this is how your friendship works, I don’t need it. People have been telling me to throw you out for years, including but not limited to people within the community; now you and I are done. They think you’re a parasitic narcissist; and to be honest, I’m starting to agree with them. Maybe I should just become a welfare recipient like you, then I too won’t need to accept responsibility or accountability either.

I’m cleaning house. Whatever I don’t plan to keep, I’m either selling or burning.

🔥🔥🔥 Dennis Style 🔥🔥🔥

You no longer have any command, you no longer have any authority whatsoever. You no longer represent me, nor speak for me in any form nor fashion. I’ve been too nice, and too LAX. You’ve basically just been taking advantage of me; talking trash on me, sabotaging me, and stabbing me in the back. You’re lucky I’ve given you so many chances; most people think I should have put you out a long time ago, and maybe I should have. Now I understand why your family kicked you off the family farm nine years ago… and now, I don’t blame them.

You think our friends and my business associates don’t report back to me what you have been saying about me? You are a fool. I’ve giving you too many chances already, but I would be a fool to keep you around any longer. So it’s time to ship out. Our friendship is over; but then again, you started killing it long ago. You are a hypocrite and a Pharisee

So by July 1st, you better be packed and moved out. Anything you leave behind after July 1st will be considered abandoned property. If you come back on my properties without my writing consent, you will be trespassing and I will have you arrested.

PS… I have video surveillance, witnesses, and documented evidence of most everything. You have been given public notice. Don’t go away mad, just go away. You did this to yourself, so blame David-Ray of the Parasitism family.

Sitting is Dangerous

There is always a question about sitting and health. Now, recent events have found more people sitting for work or leisure but the question still remains, is sitting dangerous to our health? Before we jump into answering this question, let’s take a look at our bodies.
The human body was designed to move. In the beginning, this was survival to keep away from predators and to aid us in the search for food. In many ways, our jobs required us to move for survival. Today though, we, as a species do not have to worry about trying to outrun a predator or gather food. We simply go to the store and with curbside pickup and online ordering, we now do not even have to walk around and “gather” our food. Instead, we can pay someone else to do that chore for us.
Now since our bodies were meant to move, there are some safeguards put into place. This includes storing fat for energy for a quick getaway and a muscle called a heart. This muscle allows us to keep pumping blood through our bodies while we make the escape.
While all these safeguards were created to protect us, they have not adapted to the change in times where we really do not have to move much to survive. This not only includes the basics of life but also our jobs, and leisure time. There are many more examples of how our active life has changed to one strapped to a chair, so let’s learn how this sedimentary lifestyle affects our bodies. How Sedimentary Lifestyle Affects Your BodyOn a normal day, one gets up from approximately eight hours of sleep and goes to the kitchen where one sits down. You drive to work or ride the bus and arrive at your job, where you probably sit for eight hours. You go home, cook dinner, sit on the couch to watch some entertainment or play video games and go to bed to repeat this process the next day. Now since you are not running around protecting yourself or gathering food, you are burning less of your fat reserves.
This, in turn, means weight gain and obesity, which also leads to a cluster of issues such as increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the middle, and abnormal cholesterol levels. This cluster is also referred to as a metabolic syndrome.
It is true that this is not the lifestyle of many but in several situations, the picture painted is very true for young and old. While some can envision a person over 18 having this lifestyle, more and more young people are going to school, coming home, and sitting in front of a computer screen or game system, which means they are in the same health boat that individuals are who work at desk jobs.Other Reasons Why Prolonged Sitting Is Bad For Your Health
• It can weaken your legs and glutes
• Your anxiety and depression might spike
• Can lead to deep vein thrombosis
• Significant stress on spinal structures as well as other joints, such as the shoulders and hips
Beyond the problems listed previously, sitting for over eight hours a day increases your chances of dying from cardiovascular disease and cancer.

How Can You Save Your Health From The Dangers Of Sitting?
But what is one to do when so many jobs require one to sit?

First, it has been discovered that 75 minutes of moderate exercise can counter many of the negative effects of sitting. Another approach to use is to lose weight.
While exercise and diet can help you lose the weight you have gained due to sitting all day, certain herbs can aid you in this weight loss. This is especially true if you drink herbal tea throughout the day.

One herb that is easy to make into tea is ginger. Drinking ginger tea throughout the day will reduce your appetite, increase metabolism, and burn fat. Another herb that will aid you in losing weight is cayenne pepper. While you may not want to make a tea with this herb, how about adding it to the food you eat throughout the day. As an example, add a splash to your eggs for breakfast. When eating lunch, cayenne pepper is tasty when mixed with a bit of low-fat mayo for a sandwich topping. You may think dinner can only mean some Mexican food and this is not the case. Consider adding some cayenne pepper to tomato juice for a pre-dinner drink.
Beyond herbs, exercise is very important as noted previously but you do not have to set aside a full 75 minutes out of your schedule to meet this goal. It has been discovered that even bite-size or snack-size amounts of exercise can add up to 75 minutes, which really means there is no excuse.
But how do you really fit in these tiny bits of exercise and still work?

Before we move to some easy ways of reaching that 75-minute mark, keep in mind that these tips also apply to sitting on the couch or in front of the TV.

Get moving after sitting for 30 minutes. In the business world, this can mean walking over to the water cooler or walking to the bathroom. While you are on the phone, consider taking the call standing up.
Another idea that will keep you up on your feet is a standing desk.

Due to more people working from home, these “standing desk” products are more available. If this is not a possibility, consider placing your computer on a high table or counter.
While the list above is just a shortlist of suggestions, there are many other opportunities during your day that you can sneak in a bit of exercise if you just look. How about parking as far away as you can from your office or grocery store, which can give you time going up and coming back from the establishment.

Or start a company walking program that occurs during lunch or after work. You can use the same idea when you get home. Get the kids away from the screens and have a family walk around the neighborhood. In a nutshell, if you just picked a few of these snack-size suggestions you would rack up 75 minutes a day in no time.

There is also a downside to all this exercise and that is sore muscles. But as they say, no pain no gain, right. Well, that is true but you can easily make an herbal salve that you can rub on those sore spots.

What Happens If You Put Onions in Your Socks While You Sleep?

Why You Should Put Garlic in Your Ear Before Going to Sleep

The Home Doctor – Practical Medicine for Every Householdis a 304 page doctor written and approved guide on how to manage most health situations when help is not on the way.

If you want to see what happens when things go south, all you have to do is look at Venezuela: no electricity, no running water, no law, no antibiotics, no painkillers, no anesthetics, no insulin or other important things.

But if you want to find out how you can still manage in a situation like this, you must also look to Venezuela and learn the ingenious ways they developed to cope.

About Dr. Maybell Nieves:

Dr. Maybell Nieves – head surgeon of the Unit of Breast Pathology and general surgeon at Caracas University Hospital in Venezuela, with over 10 years of experience in the operating room. She studied at the prestigious European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Maybell is known for developing new, ingenious methods of treating patients after Venezuela’s economy collapsed and hospitals and pharmacies ran out of medicines, supplies, electricity and running water.

The methods she developed and pioneered are now studied and applied in conflict zones all over the world.

Many of these protocols and procedures do not require medical assistance as they are specifically designed to be self-applied. That makes them extremely valuable if the medical system cannot be depended on, like during long term blackouts.

You can find some of these methods below! As you read them, you can easily understand why they are so useful and why every household and family should have them close by. She co-authored the book with Dr Rodrigo Alterio and Claude Davis.

Here’sjust a small glimpse of what you’ll find in
The Home Doctor: Practical Medicine for Every Household:

This book is a unique guide for the layman that you can use when help is not on the way or to manage common ailments that don’t require seeing a doctor.

Let me show you just some of the things you’ll find inside the Home Doctor:

10 Medical Supplies You Need to Have in Your House

These supplies are not expensive and should still be available, but they tend to run out fast.

In case you haven’t realized it yet, most of the medical supplies and pills we take for granted come from China and India. This supply chain is vulnerable and can be interrupted by something like an EMP.

One of the 10 supplies you should have in advance is a painkiller called Naproxen, which is over the counter and more powerful than others like ibuprofen for example.

The Biggest Mistakes You Can Make
in a Blackout

In Venezuela, electricity has turned into a rare and unpredictable commodity. They don’t have it all the time, and blackouts have become a normal part of daily life.

Inside the Home Doctor, you’ll also learn about the biggest medical mistakes you can make in a blackout and what to do with important medications that require refrigeration, like insulin or Humira.

How to Recognize a Heart Attack

and What to Do Next

Look at its four distinctive symptoms: first, chest discomfort that feels like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness, and pain in the middle of your chest that lasts for more than a few minutes.

The second symptom is discomfort or pain in one or both arms and your back, neck, jaw, or stomach.

The third symptom is shortness of breath.

The last thing you need to watch out for is breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, and lightheadedness.

These don’t all come at once, but if you see even one or two, it’s time to call 911.

Another step you can take to improve your chances before the ambulance arrives is to chew on an aspirin and pour a vial of nitroglycerin under your tongue. But you need to have these two items at home beforehand.

What Happens When You Take Expired Medications

No country in the world has had to use more expired medication than Venezuela.

Dr. Maybell and other doctors were able to see what happens firsthand, and it’s almost guaranteed to surprise you: most medications you have in your medicine cabinet are good for years after their expiration dates; which medication is safe to take after its expiration date and which ones are not.

So, pay close attention to this chapter before you throw away your so called “expired” medication.

The Only 4 Antibiotics People Should Stockpile

Modern antibiotics are lifesavers. Without them, a simple cold can quickly turn into a deadly pneumonia, an infection in a small cut can become life threatening.

I’ve selected to stockpile a 4 different antibiotics for just this reason and I want to show you how you can do the same… legally, without a prescription.

They contain distinctive substances that act very differently, so while it could happen that you stumble upon a bacteria that is resistant to one of them, the chance it can withstand all four is very slim.

Antibiotics will become priceless in times of need once they become scarce. Having these 4 at home for you and your family is at least as important as having food stockpiles. But under no circumstance should you take them without consulting a doctor first.

The Best Natural Painkiller That Grows in Your Own Backyard

Another thing you’ll discover is the best natural painkiller that probably grows in your own backyard.

This is the painkilling plant that many in Venezuela turned to after they couldn’t find relief at the pharmacy anymore…and it grows all over North America as well.

An Ingenious Way to Stockpile Prescription Medicines, Including Insulin

I’ll also show you how to deal with shortages of medicines such as insulin, which some people need to take every day.

A friend of mine from Texas found a workaround and is able to get all the insulin he needs daily and even extra to stockpile.

His ingenious method is completely legal and safe. You could start using it immediately not only for insulin but also for some other medicines that are notoriously hard to stockpile.

How to Quickly Recognize a Stroke and

The First ThingYOU MUST DO IMMEDIATELY Afterward

When dealing with a stroke, time is of the essence, and every second counts. If you act quickly, most of the time your body can recover completely.

Alternatively, many people end up partially paralyzed or worse. Inside the Home Doctor, I’ll show you the fastest way you can recognize it and the one thing you must do immediately to improve your chances.

What Happens if You Take the Wrong Probiotics

I’ll also show you the only probiotics you really need to keep in your medicine cabinet.

Probiotics are microorganisms that live inside your gut and influence your metabolism and overall health.

They can even trigger allergies. Their effects are so widespread that you don’t want to have the wrong probiotics and risk messing up your gut flora. I personally know people who gained a lot of weight taking bad probiotics.

A good probiotic, on the other hand, can make all the difference: It can improve your digestion, help you get rid of gas, absorb the maximum amount of good nutrients from the food you eat, and take care of both diarrhea and constipation.

A Simple “At-Home” Method for the Flu and Other Respiratory Issues

During the flu season, a lot of people end up in the hospital with a high fever, coughing their lungs out.

So one of the things I want to give you is a simple protocol to deal with it at home if going to a hospital is off the table.

A Step-by-Step Approach to Deal With

Almost Every Skin Injury and Condition

In Chapter 3, Skin and Skin Appendages, you’ll find out all you need to know to manage conditions of the skin, such as corns, warts, athlete’s food, burns and scalds, dermatitis, fungal infections of the nails, insect bites and stings, abscesses, ulcers or open wounds…

You’ll also discover why you should put egg whites on second-degree burns, what over-the-counter medicines and creams to stockpile, and the exact process of cleaning, stitching, and treating an open wound at home.

The Unnoticed Symptom

That May Point to an Internal Inflammation

You’ll also learn about the little-known body signs that tells you if you have hidden inflammation inside your body at this very moment.

The 1-Minute Stretch

That Relieves Most Back and Neck Pains

You’ll find out how I deal with my back problems. Until I found this one-minute stretch routine, I often woke up like a hunchback and could barely walk to the bathroom. And it usually took me several hours to become functional again.

If this sounds at all familiar to you, you should learn this simple move.

A Natural DIY Antibiotic Salve Recipe to Keep Around

An antibiotic ointment is nice to have around when you need it.

The recipe found inside the Home Doctor aids in keeping a wound from becoming infected and help reduce scarring.

How to Perform a Complete Breast Exam at Home

A woman should know how to determine if there is anything wrong with your breasts. The earlier you catch wind of something, the better your recovery becomes.

That’s why I’ll show you a simple set of diagrams and instructions that you can follow to put your mind at ease. Dr. Maybell perfected this method while working for two years at the prestigious European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy.

How to Use Leeches Medicinally

Just Like Folks 100 Years Ago

Have you ever heard of leeches used as medicine? They are an extremely effective and easy-to-use remedy for preventing a wound from festering and speeding up healing, as long as you’re not squeamish that is. Another thing they’re good for is high blood pressure. Because they decrease the amount of blood flowing, they also lower the stress on your arteries.

An Ingenious Eggshell Remedy and 25 Others Made from Things People Usually Throw Away

I’m also going to show you 25 remedies made from things you usually throw away. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure as they say. For example, you can turn the eggshells you throw away into calcium pills that will be greatly appreciated in times of need or when food becomes scarce.

How to Take Care of Toothaches and Mouth Infections When You Can’t Visit a Dentist

Ever had a really bad toothache that just wouldn’t go away?

A dental infection can quickly become a nuisance, so you want to know how to take care of it the right way.

The Best Way to Tell if

an Arrhythmia Is Benign or Dangerous

Some changes in heart rate and rhythm are normal during sleep, physical activity, and moments of stress.

But other times, an irregular heart rhythm, or arrhythmia, may be a serious problem, which, left untreated, can lead to cardiac arrest and stroke.

The way you decide if it’s time to call 911 is by looking at the symptoms of dangerous arrhythmia, which never appear for milder versions. These are shortness of breath, dizziness, lightheartedness, near fainting or fainting, and mild chest pain. If you feel your heart beating too fast or too slow and also experience at least a one of these symptoms, call an ambulance immediately.

How to Remove an Ingrown Nail

You’ll also discover how to remove an ingrown nail. In a situation where medical help is hard to come by, an ingrown nail can cause a serious infection if you don’t remove it.

Why You Should Always Keep a Stick of Gum Close by if Your Ears Start to Hurt

It’s simple really: when you chew the right kind of gum, you not only decrease pressure inside the ear by continuous jaw movements but also ward off ear infections. That’s because of a sweetener called Xylitol.

How to Know What’s Wrong if You’ve Got Abdominal Pain

I’ll also show you what to do if you’re experiencing pain in your abdomen. It’s called an abdominal evaluation, and you’ve probably undergone it before when going to a doctor for a check-up.

Inside the Home Doctor, you’ll have a complete diagram with nine sections of the abdomen that, upon palpation, should reveal where the problem is.

Are Your Migraines Hiding Something More Serious?

You’ll discover which two types of migraines are most common and the simple but essential things you need to do to identify which one you have and how to get rid of it.

Especially if it’s a recurrent one, like once a month, you need to read this chapter. This could also be a sign of something you shouldn’t ignore.

How to Deal with Injuries Caused During Social Unrest

You’ll also learn how to deal with typical wounds caused by violent protesters and rioters.

As a surgeon in Venezuela, Maybell dealt with probably more wounds like these than many doctors in other parts of the world during their whole career. We are no strangers to such events, either, so I say it’s best to be prepared.

What Doctors Do to Keep Their Immunity High

You’ll also discover how to keep your immune system healthy.

You’ll learn the things that doctors do to keep their immunity high after they come in close contact with sick people, things that you can also do at home to protect your family.

How to Use Salt and Oil for Tooth and Gum Decay

You’ll also discover the old mustard oil and salt remedy that people use to restore gums and remove plaque.

Salt acts as a mild abrasive that helps remove stains and brighten teeth. It also contains a natural source of fluoride, which is a bonus for your teeth.

On the other hand, mustard oil helps strengthen your gums and makes it easier to remove the plaque naturally.

The 10 Most Sought-After Bartering Items in Venezuela

I’ll also show you ten non-medical items you must stockpile now. A few months after Venezuela’s economy collapsed, these ten items became VERY precious and they could be traded for almost anything you needed—including medicine.

A Before-Bed Recipe to Sleep Like a Baby Again

You’ll also find out about some of the ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now, which, when mixed the right way, can help you fall asleep.

If you are taking sleeping pills from time to time, even melatonin, you should try to replace them with this recipe instead as it’s natural and completely safe.

40 Interesting Home Reliefs from Our Grandparents That Could Help You

You’ll also rediscover 40 home remedies our grandparents taught us that doctors still use or prescribe. These have once again become very important for people who like try a more natural approach. For example, you can tackle some headaches using a potato, deal with bug bites using toothpaste, lower fever with vinegar, detox over night sleeping with half an onion in socks, make cough syrup from black radish, and many others.

The Antibiotic Plant That Saved Venezuela

Did you know there is a sort of natural “doxycycline” to be found as close as your own backyard?

The plant is called Usnea, and it’s popularly known as Old Man’s Beard. This wild plant grows all over North-America and once you gather some, I’ll show you how to turn it into an antibiotic tincture to greatly increase its potency and shelf-life.

Cabbage Wraps for Inflammation

Cabbage leaves are a great anti-inflammatory and contain compounds that can also draw out poison or pus from a wound and speed up the healing. This isn’t even a folk remedy. Dr. Maybell was taught this in medical school and confirmed it in her practice later on in life.

Why You Should Always Keep Some Listerine

in Your Medicine Cabinet

I’ll also show you why keeping a small stockpile of Listerine in your medicine cabinet can be a very good idea.

Listerine was invented in 1879 and was originally formulated as a surgical antiseptic. It was named after the brilliant British surgeon, Joseph Lister, who is still widely considered to be the father of antisepsis, the science of preventing infections.

In the hospitals of Venezuela, they used a lot of Listerine for different types of bacterial and fungal infections, wounds, gangrene, and diabetic foot.

And even all of that is just the tip of the iceberg of what you’ll find inside the Home Doctor. This book is absolutely massive with over 300 pages filled with practical tips, precise diagrams, and step-by-step instructions that may allow you to stay healthy and help others in need.

With the Home Doctor, you can become a “home doc” yourself. Home docs are self-reliant people who take care of themselves and their families when the situation demands it. That’s what I wanted to achieve with this book—to empower normal people, to take care of themselves, their loved ones, and even their communities when doctors and hospitals are not available anymore.

The Narcissist as Human Parasite: Are You a Host?

THE NARCISSIST FAMILY FILES

By Julie L Hall on Share1924ShareShareShare

Although narcissists would never admit it, they are by nature dependent on other people for their emotional survival. If they were loners, many lives would be spared immeasurable misery. But the narcissist actively, persistently pursues others to obtain “narcissistic supply,” or the attention, status, and reassurance s/he needs for emotional survival. The narcissist as human parasite takes a heavy emotional and physiological toll on her/his supplier “hosts.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a parasite as follows:

“A parasite is an organism that lives on or in a host and gets its food from or at the expense of its host. Parasites can cause disease in humans.”

Parasitism isn’t just about “feeding,” however. Scientists have uncovered many parasite-host relationships in which the parasite actually alters the brain and behavior of its host to make it assist in fulfilling vital parts of the parasite’s life cycle. A certain type of tiny wasp, for example, injects its egg along with chemicals into a ladybug. The egg hatches and consumes the nutrients that the ladybug ingests when it eats, essentially devouring the ladybug from the inside out. When the wasp larva is big enough, it squirms out of the ladybug and wraps itself in a cocoon beneath it. Immobilized and half dead, the ladybug is still programmed in essence to protect the larva by thrashing its body around if threatening insects approach. Once the larva-turned-wasp hatches from its cocoon and flies away, the ladybug typically dies.

The Narcissist as Human Parasite

Understanding narcissism through the lens of parasitism explains the narcissist’s reliance on others as a means of supply. Individuals with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) suffer from a destabilized identity and sense of inferiority rooted in childhood attachment disruptions. Narcissists attempt to adapt by projecting a superior persona. But they are always seeking the validation they did not receive at crucial developmental stages. Their incomplete sense of being compels them to seek identity and self-worth externally, either by aligning with high-status people/things or by devaluing and dissociating from those who either threaten their false persona or who somehow in their eyes lower their status.

Like most parasites, narcissists rarely kill their hosts (although malignant ones may subject them to extreme violence). But like the mind-altering variety of parasite, the narcissist works to control the “brains” of her/his suppliers through a wide range of manipulations, from bullying to projecting, denying to gaslighting, guilt-tripping to silent-treatment. The narcissist continuously orchestrates the “reality” around her/him by enlisting others in supporting her/his delusions of grandeur and punishing and/or rejecting them if they do not comply. To the narcissist, her/his spouse questioning an opinion s/he has declared as patented truth or her/his child not making the soccer team are potential humiliations, to which s/he may react with scorn or rage. In the parasitic narcissist’s eyes, both situations weaken the desirability of sources of supply, and thereby threaten her/his sense of well-being.

Are You a Narcissist’s Host?

Narcissists have an instinct for finding and attaching themselves to potential hosts. Such people in some way offer narcissists status while also enabling their harshly self-serving world-view and behavior.

A host may confer status to the narcissist in many ways, including by being well-liked, good looking, wealthy, famous, or professionally accomplished. The host also enables the narcissist by directly or indirectly being complicit in the narcissist’s distorted reality and abusive behavior to protect her/his false face. In this sense, the enabling host is like the mind-altered ladybug, serving the needs of the narcissist, often at its own expense.

Are you functioning as a kind of host for a narcissist? Here are some ways to tell if you’re in a relationship with one:

  1. They demand inordinate attention and admiration.
  2. They react with retaliatory rage or sulking punishment if you disagree or argue with them.
  3. They don’t apologize or take responsibility for their behavior, no matter how inappropriate or hurtful.
  4. They lack interest in or compassion for your feelings and needs and project their bad behavior onto you.
  5. They display an inflated sense of entitlement and cause a scene or react bitterly if they feel snubbed or victimized.
  6. You feel like you’re constantly vulnerable to attack and/or criticism.
  7. You find yourself regularly placating and avoiding confrontation.
  8. You feel it is unsafe to freely express your feelings or opinions around them.
  9. You are emotionally and physically hypervigilant to potential conflict.
  10. You feel isolated by the relationship.

Slippery Elm

POSTED MARCH 11, 2022 BY ANN MARIE IN ALL ARTICLESBACKYARD PLANTSHOUSEHOLD REMEDIESPLANT OF THE WEEK6

Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) is a deciduous tree that grows in a cold climate. It is also known as the red elm because of its reddish-brown inner heartwood. But what earns its popular name is the slippery and gooey mucilage found in its inner bark. This substance is used as an ingredient in most lozenges and suppositories. Slippery elm mucilage is also an excellent binder that can hold unleavened bread together. More than its medicinal value, the wood of the slippery elm also makes durable timber. It is used in boats and canoes because it remains strong even after a long time underwater.

The slippery elm tree also provides attractive foliage making them likable trees in parks and gardens. They are an excellent addition to winter and shade gardens, and they can attract butterflies and songbirds. On a separate note, collecting slippery elm barks can eventually kill it. This hounding overharvesting issue enlists it as an endangered tree. Thus, foraging for its bark is regulated and considered illegal in national and protected forests.

The slippery elm graces the forests of North America for many centuries and is a family to American elm. It is used as an herbal remedy for throat and stomach problems. Physicians during the American Revolution have used it as a poultice for gunshot wounds. Early American settlers also chew the slippery inner bark substance for quenching their thirst. The mucilage later gives it its name as a distinction from the American elm.

Where Is Slippery Elm Found?

Slippery elm is abundant in central and southern North America. It spreads over Maine and Florida and is also found in Texas and North Dakota. Some states in the United States and Canada may also grow a lower number of this hardwood. They particularly thrive in temperate forests and cove forests in low mountain regions.

How To Identify Slippery Elm

A medium-sized tree with a long trunk and spreading branches describes the slippery elm. It has a reddish-brown trunk with rough outer bark. But what sets it apart from other elm trees is its slimy inner bark.

  • Leaves. This deciduous tree bears green leaves that will turn yellow and gold in the fall. It is oblong-shaped with serrations and is a little uneven at the base. The leaves have a rough texture, owing to the tiny hairs growing on their surface that are stiff at the upper part and pale at the base.
  • Flower. Slippery elm flowers bloom from February to around April. The flowers are not showy, appearing in a dense cluster and short stalk. They are greenish-red or rusty-colored, with fuzzy hair but without petals. These flowers bloom before the leaves appear in the tree in early spring.
  • Roots. The root system of the slippery elm is shallow and spreading. In dry soils, however, it may grow itself a taproot. It may spread in an area ranging from 24 to 60 ft.
  • Seeds. The fertile flowers of the slippery elm will give rise to round samaras. A samara is a dry fruit without flesh but with papery wings. Slippery elm samara is single-seeded. The seed is about 12 to 18 mm long, often yellow or cream-colored.
  • Stems/Trunks. Slippery elm trunks are rough, with their bark lined with deep furrows. The outer bark can be gray, dark brown, or reddish-brown, while the inner bark is rust-red colored. It oozes a clear, viscous, and gelatinous mucilage with a pleasant and fragrant smell.

Slippery elm has no known cultivars, but it was hybridized. In the early 20th century, the slippery elm (Ulmus rubra) was hybridized with the Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila) in the wild. As a hybrid parent, slippery elm produces limited cultivars. The most successful hybrid cultivars were Lincoln, Coolshade, Fremont Rosehill, and Improved Coolshade.

How To Grow Slippery Elm

Slippery elm is an endangered tree, and though it is a beautiful ornamental, it is hard to find commercially. Some shade and natural gardens may still grow these trees, but they thrive mostly in the wilds.

Propagating a slippery elm is possible through seeds. A cut-down tree stump will also grow new sprouts and eventually a new tree when left alone. They are easy to grow, hardy and tolerant, and may live for up to 300 years. They often fare up well in USDA hardiness zones 3 to 9. If you want to grow it in your yard, you will need ample space to accommodate its spreading roots in at least 24 ft.

Growing Slippery Elm From Seeds

Ripe slippery elm samaras that have fallen off are ideal for planting. Do not bother with removing the wings to avoid damaging the seeds. Airdry the seeds and stratify them at 41°F (5°C) for about 60 to 90 days before planting.

You may sow the seeds in a large container or directly into your garden. Once the plant has established itself and under favorable conditions, it should grow at about 3 ft per year.

Slippery Elm Plant Care

The slippery elm seedlings are hardy and tolerant to weather conditions. But they will grow best in the following cultural conditions:

Growing Slippery Elm
  • Clay-loam soil
  • Soil pH level 6 to 8
  • Well-draining, moist, or occasionally dry soil
  • Full sun and partial shade

The problem with growing a slippery elm tree is that it is prone to Dutch elm disease. It is a kind of fungal disease in the bark spread by the bark beetles.

They are not as susceptible to the disease as the American elm, but infestation may still lead to plant death.

Prevention of the Dutch elm disease in elm trees includes proper pruning and watering. Accordingly, watering the plants from April to around mid-August will help. By mid-August, you should stop watering and allow only a couple more soaking before winter. It will allow the tree to harden up and prevent bugs from hosting in its trunk.

How To Harvest Slippery Elm

The inner bark is the most essential part of the slippery elm tree. Harvesting it means scraping off a sliver of its bark. Eventually, though, this process will also mean the imminent demise of the tree. The best way of harvesting tree bark is from its lower pruned branch and not from its trunk. It does not only apply to the slippery elm, but all trees foraged for their barks.

Harvesting Slippery Elm

According to The Herbal Academy, the ideal way of foraging for bark is from naturally fallen trees within a few weeks after it fell. It can be tricky and a little less hopeful, but it is an ethical and sustainable way of bark harvesting.

The next best way is finding a small and low branch for a sliver of its bark. Slice a knife deep down into its wood, and the bark will come off easily. Once stripped off, separate the inner bark from the outer one. You can harvest the sap or dry the inner bark for later use or if you plan to grind it into powder.

Harvest of slippery elm bark is best done in spring and early summer. It is the season when the sap production is at its peak that it flows out of the bark easily.

What Slippery Elm Is Good For And Natural Remedies Made From It

Ulmus rubra is an excellent herb for treating colds and other respiratory symptoms. It has an effective action against asthma and is used for the fast healing of wounds and ulcers. Slippery elm is often used in lozenges that help in alleviating sore throat.

Traditionally, the slippery elm was used as a thirst quencher for the early American settlers. Its powdered bark is sometimes made into a nourishing gruel or porridge for sick and weakened patients. According to medicinal folklore, a gruel of slippery elm can heal broken bones faster. It is also an excellent antacid that can relieve GERD and heartburn and treat many digestive issues.

Slippery elm helps stimulate the nerve endings to increase their mucus production. Its slippery gel and the increased mucus coat the mouth, throat, and stomach alleviating any inflammation. This action also protects the gastrointestinal tract from ulcers and hyperacidity.

Slippery elm is also known for improving bowel movement. Thus, it is suggested as a cure for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and ulcerative colitis. It is also an ingredient used in the making of suppositories.

Slippery Elm Remedies

There is little research evidence to back some of its medicinal properties. But the slippery elm is considered an effective herbal remedy for conditions like:

What Parts Of The Slippery Elm Is Used For Remedies?

The mucilaginous inner bark is the most valuable part of the slippery elm used for remedies. Its leaves, flowers, and roots also make an important part in making infusions and decoctions. The inner bark that is harvested is sold either in its dried or powdered form.

Finely grounded slippery elm bark is good for tea and extracts preparations. Meanwhile, the coarsely powdered bark is ideal for use as a poultice. Today, slippery elm is marketed as a tablet, capsule, lozenge, or extract. Some manufacturers may add the slippery elm as an ingredient of nutrition drinks and some baby foods.

Warnings And Cautions

Slippery elm may not be safe in pregnant and breastfeeding women and should be avoided for safety. Traditionally, it is an abortifacient, which can cause miscarriage and preterm birth. However, it is unclear whether the cause is in administering slippery elm vaginally, or orally.

The slippery elm is safe for children, but a health practitioner’s advice is needed for the dosage and administration of slippery elm supplements. Adults, especially those taking maintenance medicines for various conditions should also contact their health service provider. This herb may interfere with the absorption of some drugs and herbs.

When taking any supplements, even natural herbs, it is best to talk to your doctor. They can tell the possible interaction with your current medication or their potential side effects. Slippery elm does not have adverse side effects but it can cause allergies to people with product sensitivities.

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health

POSTED JANUARY 17, 2022 BY ROSE KEEFE IN ALL ARTICLESBACKYARD PLANTSHOUSEHOLD REMEDIES9

When you experience bad breath, your first impulse may be to blame it on bad oral hygiene. Your teeth consist of layers that are sometimes penetrated by bacteria, especially if you’ve recently chipped a tooth or had a filling. If this happens, an infection can set in, resulting in pain and odor.

While gum disease and tooth decay are indeed common causes of bad breath, if the problem persists even after you’ve seen a dentist and started brushing and flossing regularly, there may be something else going on. In this article, we’ll review some common diseases that can result in bad breath and what symptoms can alert you to each one.

Lactose Intolerance

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Lactose Intolerance

If your breath smells like sour milk, it may be a sign of lactose intolerance. A milky odor can indicate that when you consume dairy products, you aren’t breaking down their proteins properly. If you also experience gas, stomach cramps, and diarrhea after consuming milk products, you might want to schedule an allergy test with your healthcare provider.

Kidney Problems

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Kidney Problems

Healthy kidneys are vital to your well-being. They remove toxins and chemicals from your body, flushing them out as urine. When they don’t function like they’re supposed to, it impacts the rest of your body, including the respiratory system. The following symptoms are all indicators that something may be going on with your kidneys:

  • Fatigue and overall lack of energy
  • Dry and itchy skin
  • Need to frequently urinate
  • Bloody and/or foamy urine

A fishy odor on your breath can also indicate a kidney disorder. Kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease, occurs when the kidneys are damaged to the point where they can no longer filter waste products from the blood. As a result, dangerous toxins and wastes don’t leave the body and accumulate, causing widespread complications. When kidney failure affects the respiratory system, it can cause fishy-breath odor.

Sleep Apnea

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Sleep Apnea

If you regularly notice bad breath when you wake up, you may be experiencing more than your typical morning breath. Dry mouth during the night can lead to the build-up of stinky bacteria just like not drinking enough water.

Snorers are more likely to experience this issue than those who breathe normally during sleep. Snoring can sometimes be caused by sleep apnea, which causes you to stop breathing during the night and can be dangerous if left untreated.

Snoring complications may be treated by your dentist or orthodontist, especially if jaw alignment is a problem. In cases of mild sleep apnea, your doctor might recommend simple lifestyle changes, such as quitting smoking or losing weight.

With moderate to severe sleep apnea, you might benefit from a machine that delivers air pressure through a mask while you sleep. The air pressure in a CPAP machine is greater than that of the surrounding air, which prevents sleep apnea and snoring by keeping your airways open.

Diabetes

When diabetes is poorly managed, one is more likely to develop gum disease and dry mouth. Having high blood sugar levels weakens the body’s ability to fight bacteria that can cause gum infections. These infections also cause bad breath.

However, a fruity breath odor or an odor similar to acetone (used in nail polish remover) can also indicate ketoacidosis, a serious problem in diabetics. When the body lacks insulin, it uses fatty acids for energy, resulting in the production of acidic ketones. These acids, which include acetone, hydroxybutyrate, and acetoacetate, can build up in the blood and result in a diabetic coma or death.

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Diabetes

If you’re experiencing the following symptoms in addition to unusual breath odor, see your doctor for an evaluation:

  • Frequent urination
  • Constant hunger and/or thirst
  • Weight loss
  • Blurry vision
  • Dry skin
  • Fatigue

Acid Reflux And GERD

Digestive conditions such as acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD, delay or prevent food from being processed normally in your stomach. When food is digested more slowly, it can decay and even be regurgitated, causing bad breath. You may even experience acid erosion in your teeth and a sore, inflamed throat.

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Acid reflux

Other symptoms may include:

  • Heartburn after eating, which may be worse at night
  • Pain in your chest
  • Trouble swallowing
  • Sensation of a lump in your throat

GERD isn’t the only digestive health issue that can cause bad breath. According to a study published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology, the H. pylori bacteria that causes stomach ulcers may also cause bad breath.

Related: Home Remedies For Acid Reflux

Sinusitis And Allergies

Several respiratory tract infections can cause bad breath, including the flu, bronchitis, and sinusitis. Inflammation of tissues in the respiratory tract can trigger the production of bacteria-feeding cells and mucus. In addition, allergies and nasal congestion can cause bad breath because they force you to breathe through your mouth, leading to dryness and bacterial growth.

Stomach Cancer

What Bad Breath Tells You About Your Health - Stomach Cancer

The recent development of nanoarray analysis, which is a breath-test technology, has made it possible to identify levels of compounds with a known link to stomach cancer.

This test uses nanotechnology to analyze atoms called nanoarrays. In this instance, the array contains atoms from breath samples, and the computer examines them for the presence of specific compounds associated with stomach cancer.

In 2013, researchers in Haifa, Israel, tested breath samples from 484 people who had fasted for 12 hours and refrained from smoking for three hours before the test. Ninety-nine participants had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, although their treatment had not yet begun. Nanoarray analysis successfully detected the different early stages of stomach cancer, which may enable physicians to identify patients at greater risk of developing the disease.

Bad breath can be more than a social embarrassment. It could also be a sign that you need to brush and floss more frequently or it could mean that you’re in the early stages of stomach cancer. If brushing doesn’t resolve it, your next step should be a visit to your healthcare provider. Breath abnormalities can be one of the earliest symptoms of different illnesses, and taking action now can increase your chances of a successful outcome.

The article said that some people get “bad breath” because their body produces acetone and ketones and it can be smelled on skin and breath. The diet is considered extremely healthy, warding off all the diseases found in USA (cancer, diabetes, weight). Basically ketogenic means that the body’s fuel is fat based (meat, veggies, etc.) and not starch based (all processed foods and sugar). Here is the article I read: https://articles.mercola.com/ketogenic-diet.aspx? • SUSAN POSTED JANUARY 18, 2022 1:51 AMAnother cause can be from “tonsil stones.” These “stones” form in the crypts of the tonsil from food and debris that gets trapped. The smell is somewhat like mothballs. The technical name is tonsilolith.Reply
  • DIANE TREGEAR POSTED JANUARY 18, 2022 8:10 AMAs Susan commented, tonsil stones, or chronically infected tonsils can cause bad breath. They can also cause infection that makes it into the blood becoming systemic and oral/tonsil infection bacteria has been found in heart disease, dementia and other tissues/conditions. Apparently you can pick the stones off the tonsils. Swishing with 0.1% hydrogen peroxide can also clean oral cavity – Dr Thomas Levy wrote a free PDF book talking about this called Rapid Virus Recovery.Reply
    • RADAR POSTED FEBRUARY 3, 2022 5:19 PMI also recently mentioned Rapid Virus Recovery by Dr. Thomas E Levy, MD, JD on this website; but couldn’t recall the free download address. I refound it: go to http://www.rvr.medfoxpub.com. It is a great read intended for non-medical trained people. 345 pages. free.Reply
  • FRED POSTED MARCH 17, 2022 12:19 PMAnother symptom to take into account is SIBO (Small Intestin Bacteria Overgrowth) which, if treated soon enough, not only reduce the bad breath problem, but also prevent bowel cancer risk on the long term. Just a thought.Reply

45. Under Eye Treatment

Turmeric when applied to the skin can lighten it. In doing so, many women in India apply turmeric under the eyes to lighten up dark circles. Instead, make a simple facial mask and apply it under the eyes.

    • THE LOST HERBS POSTED SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 1:44 PMHi Susan,Thank you for your interest in our work. The World Health Organization (WHO) deems 1.4 mg per pound (0–3 mg/kg) of body weight to be the recommended allowable daily intake (ADI) for curcumin. This amount should be a safe and tolerable dosage for the vast majority of users looking to reduce arthritis pain, lower inflammation, or improve overall health. But the exact dose depends on the medical condition.Powdered turmeric root has traditionally been used as a stimulant and carminative at dosages of 0.5 to 3 g/day. Dosages of 3 to 6 g/day have been investigated for protective effects against ulcers. Analgesic effects have been reported with doses of 1.5 to 2 g/day. Daily oral doses of 3,600 mg have been typically used in clinical trials, but dosages of up to 8 g/day have also been used. Higher doses are associated with adverse GI effects. Many blessings and good health!Reply

  • CHARLES POSTED SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 2:33 PMGreetings. I was wanting to know if someone could tell me the most effective herbs to use for swelling and popping of the knee. This just recently started and now the area around my knee has swollen. I am a firm believer in herbs and have used them for years however I have never had this problem so I am in need of some assistance. because there are so many in here I am just wanting help in deciding what would be the best ones to start with. Thank you for all the help!Reply
    • VINCE POSTED SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 4:59 AMIm no Dr but “ If you have cracking or popping that does cause pain or swelling in the knee, you may want to see a doctor. It can be a sign of: Meniscus tears. The meniscus is a rubbery C-shaped disc that cushions your knee and acts as a shock-absorber.
I also dont know enough about herbs to advice on what to use.” “ Blood Flow – the natural healing process in your body – needs assistance for medial meniscus injuries because blood flow is greatly reduced when you’re injured. When treating a medial meniscus injury or really any type of meniscus or knee injury (ie. lateral meniscus tear, bucket-handle tear, posterior horn tear, or anterior horn tear), you need to increase blood flow to your injury while your knee is healing. This increase in blood flow will accelerate your body’s own ability to heal itself.” Hope this helps.Reply
